Wayside is hiring for a Community Meals Assistant. Make a difference in your community by joining our team!
The Community Meals Assistant will work with Wayside staff and volunteers to safely prepare and package meals for delivery to Wayside’s Community Meal sites. The Community Meals Assistant will be responsible for meal deliveries and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. This position will report to Wayside’s Kitchen Manager.
This is a 21 hour/week position; days/times are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-4:00
Responsibilities:
- Work with Kitchen Manager to supervise volunteers in safe food handling practices
- Set up kitchen for daily volunteer groups
- Package meals for delivery to offsite locations
- Delivery of all meals to Community Meal host sites
- Follow daily/weekly/monthly cleaning checklists to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Other tasks as needed
- Maintaining and submitting bi-weekly timesheets
Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Previous kitchen or delivery experience preferred, ServSafe certification a plus
- Capable of working independently or with others
