Wayside is taking advantage of Valentine’s Day to spread some extra love around the community! Festive chocolate beet cake was enjoyed at the Salvation Army Community Meal, flowers were presented to some special Fedcap volunteers, kids at the Westbrook Community Center meal made heart shaped fruit skewers and seniors who are part of the Commodity Supplemental Food Program received cards hand-crafted by the Project Respect and Parkside Fun mentor program. Psychology and neuroscience research confirms that social connections are as critical as food, safety, and shelter. This is why Wayside is dedicated to ensuring that all programs bring people together to foster social connections and that everyone feels respected and loved all year long!
