Today marks the end of an era as the last community meal is enjoyed at HopeGateWay's 185 High Street building. Beginning 8 years ago, this meal laid the foundation for the current intentional meals model that emphasizes using food as a means rather than an end. As a host site HopeGateWay set an example of hospitality, sharing their space and welcoming community members in the spirit of mutuality. Over 1,500 community members have been part of the meals at HGW! In total the community gathered 772 times to share 50,000 meals. Wayside looks forward to new ways a future partnership can continue fighting hunger and strengthening community!
