An innovative partnership with an online purveyor of gourmet foods and gifts will allow customers to select Wayside as the recipient of 15 percent of the final sale at checkout.

PS It Matters has selected Wayside to be a “Featured Food Bank” for the months of February, March and December.

“This is a great opportunity to find fabulous foods and to support Wayside,” says Don Morrison, Wayside’s operations manager. “I’m encouraging everyone to let their foodie friends know about PS It Matters, and about the chance to select Wayside at online checkout to receive 15 percent of the sale.”

Launched in February, PS It Matters selects gourmet food items and unique gifts from talented regional producers, dealing only with sources that are capable of providing top quality products. Many of the items from sale are from Maine.

PS It Matters, which taste tests all of its offerings to ensure that it is selling the best foods available, offers starters, jams and  spreads, entrees, baking mixes, sweets, beverages and gift baskets.

“Reduced funding and increased demand for services have impacted The Food Bank community,” says John Tynan of PS It Matters’. “But given the great affiliation of Food Bank volunteers and supporters, and the fact that $1 can provide four meals, there exists a great opportunity for (our customers) to help.

“It’s really that simple – you get outstanding gourmet foods you want while providing your local food bank with meals they need. We think this is a pretty good idea all the way around; we hope you agree.”
