Wayside wrapped up National Volunteer Month with an annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Monday night at the Maine Irish Heritage Center. Almost 200 volunteers who provide critical support in the office and kitchen, food rescue program, community meals program and mobile food pantry program gathered to enjoy a meal prepared by the Board of Directors and to celebrate the 14,600 hours donated to the community last year via Wayside. Per previous years, there was a much anticipated door prize raffle with an array of prizes thanks to the generous support of Midcoast Music Academy, Susan's Fish-n-Chips, and Corsetti's and attendees also got to take home festive floral centerpieces which were donated from Skillins Greenhouses. Wayside is honored to offer opportunities for the community to cultivate and share their gifts and looks forward to celebrate them.
