Earlier this week Wayside Food Programs was contacted by a staff member of the Sunday River Food and Beverage Department, Dean Walker. Along with the Food and Beverage Director Aaron Fultz, the two were trying to find homes for 92 frozen turkeys from their Thanksgiving staff turkey giveaway. Thanks to Operations Manager Don Morrison and Vacationland Distributing, logistics were worked out to have the driver who does their distribution in Newry pickup the turkeys and drop them off at the Wayside Warehouse. Wayside thanks these two businesses for embracing creative, flexible and innovative solutions in order to fight hunger in Southern Maine. Everything Wayside does is rooted in cooperative partnerships and cross-industry collaborations because when everyone works together, the collective impact is certainly strengthened.
