The episode of Chopped entitled "Pork on the Brain" which aired on Tuesday, 20th on the Food Network featured none other than Maine's own Christian Haynes, Chef/Owner of Dandelion Catering Company in Yarmouth, Maine. The show is comprised of four chefs from around the country facing off against each other to prepare a three-course meal of an appetizer, entree and dessert. In each round, they are only alotted a short amount of time to prepare their dish which must utilize and highlight the surprise ingredients provided to them. At the end of each course, a panel of three judges "chops" one chef based on not measuring up in the categories of taste, presentation and creativity. At the end of three rounds Christain was the last chef left standing and became a Chopped Champion.

Wayside feels lucky and honored to have Chef Christian and his dynamite team from Dandelion Catering volunteer their time and donate their skills regularly in the kitchen, helping to prepare nutritious and delicious food for our kids' meals program, serving students and their parents weekly at five host sites in Portland and Westbrook. Everything Wayside does is rooted in partnerships and cross-industry collaborations such as this one. When we work together, our collective impact is strengthened. A big thank you to Dandelion Catering for fighting hunger and strengthening community.
