First and second graders at Friends School of Portland raised funds for Wayside by sharing food with their community. They provided a homemade ramen noodle lunch for their school with all proceeds being donated to fight hunger and strengthen our community via Wayside. Inspired by a book about a Korean-American chef they they read for their People of Inspiration unit in social studies, the class decided to do a cooking project based on some of the themes from his book and life - cooking for his community, sharing food with others, and helping people who don't have food or access to good, quality food. They also came to take a tour of Wayside so they could learn more about the ways they are supporting our community.
