Annual Appeal supports work to fight local hunger

The news has not been good for many of our neighbors. The economic downturn continues to take a toll. Health and energy costs rise, while unemployment numbers remain stagnant. For many, the choice becomes one of heat and medicine versus nutritious food.

Too many local people are having trouble putting food on the table. We are asking for your help in fighting this. Your support makes a difference, allowing us to fight hunger on a number of fronts, including:
  • Nutritious Community Meals in safe, friendly settings, where we reach vulnerable populations of the elderly and the young.
  • Mobile Food Pantries, where we deliver food to at-risk people throughout our community.
  • Food Rescue, where we secure food donations from many sources and provide that food to local food banks, soup kitchens and shelters.

Over the last few months, generous support has enabled us to consolidate all operations under one roof, allowing us to do more with less by increasing efficiency and capacity. We now also have our own kitchen, providing more flexibility in our meal preparation and food processing.

Please help us continue our efforts. Your help can make a real difference in reducing local hunger. We are asking you to help by supporting Wayside’s work to lessen the burden of hunger on our neighbors.
Thank you for your support.
